Adrienne Class of 2016 Senior | Midland Texas Senior Photographer

seniorgirlcollagemidlandtexassenior

I was blessed to photograph Adrienne's Sweet Sixteen session and now her Senior VIP Session.  Wow! The years fly by so quickly!  It may have been February, but the temperatures were perfect and the light was incredible.  I loved spending time with Adrienne and her mom.  While the majority of my seniors bring four to five outfits, Adrienne wanted to keep things simple.  I love how many looks we can get just using different locations and poses.  Isn't she gorgeous!!  She will play soccer for LCU in the fall...and they are so blessed to have her!

Puppy Fever

I've caught puppy fever! Yikes! But that's better than baby fever at my age, right?! Puppies are so very cute. I would love to have a little cutie with me at my Studio. I've narrowed it down to four breeds. Which one would you pick?  Does anyone else have puppy fever? I really shouldn't, but I do. And a puppy would be so fun to have at the studio. Which one would you choose? Top left is a Yorkie, top right is a maltipoo, bottom left is a poochon, and bottom right is a cavapoo. (Images courtesy of Pinterest).

Ah, I can hardly wait for their gorgeous Proof Book to arrive!!! But, while we wait, I wanted to share this image. They are all so beautiful/handsome....but Little Bit on the right makes me giggle with joy every time I see this image. She makes you want to giggle too, doesn't she? I wonder what she was thinking about.

Happy, Happy New Year!

A New Year, new website, and a new blog!  While I stepped away from blogging for nearly a year, I'm thankful for the start of a new year and the new inspiration to start blogging again.  I hope you will join me as I share so many beautiful sessions that I am blessed to photograph mixed with crafts, recipes, family stories, and things of the heart.

And what is a blog post without pictures?  Here is a glimpse from our fun New Year's Eve Model Session.  The girls looked gorgeous in their sequined dresses.  I loved the red lips!  The set was fun for me to design with lots of glitz and glam.  I found nearly everything on Amazon, Wally's Party Supply, my favorite store ever~Hobby Lobby (or Hob Lob if you are a regular customer), and cookies by Everything Delicious Bakery in Stanton, Texas.  We had the session in our beautiful Studio.  I'm thankful that we did.  We were snowed in the day before.  We rarely are blessed with snow in our area and it was gorgeous!!!  I love snow!

Rachel's Ring Ceremony

In just a few weeks our Rachel will graduate Magna Cum Laude a semester early!  We are so proud of her!!!  Last night, we traveled to a very special Ring Ceremony where she received her university ring.  It was a beautiful ceremony!  Baylor University should take note and would do well to offer such a special ring ceremony to their students. Rachel was beaming!  What a beautiful celebration!  University President, Dr. Hall, presented rings to each student and sweetly stayed after the ceremony for pictures.  Rachel and her friend Katie were excited to have their picture taken with him.

What a night to treasure!  I cannot believe graduation is just around the corner.

Editing Images

  natural edits

Recently I've been asked about my editing style.  My goal is to always enhance natural beauty and not to change it. Part of my exclusive experience is to always show them their high resolution, edited images.  I want my clients to see themselves at their absolute best. You can see from the above examples how I edit.  She is absolutely gorgeous to begin with!  Seriously!!!

I am always working and striving to capture a stellar Straight Out of the Camera image.  It makes editing so much easier this way.  Then, when I import my images in to Photoshop I simply remove blemishes if needed, fix dark circles if needed, and that's really it.  Certainly, I could play for hours in Photoshop but I want my clients to see themselves the way we see them and they are beautiful.  I really do have the blessing of photographing the most beautiful clients and friends!

Our Cindy Lou Who and her Grinch

cindy lou who and her grinchcindy lou who and her grinchcindy lou who and her grinchOur Cindy Lou Who and her Grinch...he's actually a pretty sweet guy but it matched Hannah's outfit.  Ha!  They actually had planned to go as a huntress and her trophy buck. But, the buck trophy costume didn't arrive on time.  In fact, it has yet to arrive at all.  Weird! So in a feat of last minuteness, I remembered Uncle Tony's Santa Costume and grabbed one of my old Christmas sweaters and the frenzy began.  Nathan picked up green face paint and Hannah's fabulous eyelashes at a local costume shop and we started on Hannah's hair.

We used a solo cup for the main part and pipe cleaners braided in to her hair for the cindy lou braided loops.  It was so fun!!!  And they looked fabulous.  And Hannah won best costume.  Yay!  Our last minute idea worked out well.  Ha!  And now I'm ready to watch the movie and, play Christmas carols, and decorate my house for Christmas.  My high school students might freak out if I played Christmas carols in the classroom this early.  Have you started decorating yet?

It's Pumpkin Carving Time

Both of our girls were home for the weekend.  Delight!  So, in between leading the band Friday night (Hannah), taking pictures on the sidelines (me), and the ACT (Hannah), we decided to have a little pumpkin carving contest.  Yes!  We are all a bit competitive in our family...just a bit.  Ha! The hardest part was finding pumpkins. Seriously?!  We tried four different grocery stores.  Ugh!  The pumpkins we planted in our garden aren't quite finished yet...meaning we have beautiful flowers but no pumpkins yet.  Hopefully someday soon.  Finally, we found our pumpkins and headed home for dinner and a little pumpkin carving competition.

pumpkin carving contest

Gone are the days when our girls had to use plastic knives but sites like those above made me want to break out the plastic kit knives. Scary!

pumpkin carving timeHannah's boyfriend had never carved pumpkins before.  We had a little fun with him. See the tiny pumpkin above?  We convinced him that he had to start small and work his way to the adult sized pumpkins.  Ha! We had a real pumpkin waiting for him in the pantry.  He was a good sport and carved the tiny pumpkin and the larger one.  By the look on his face, I think he was glad to have joined in our competition.

Here are our results left to right:  Rachel's Olaff pumpkin, mine (fairly simple compared to my Martha Stewart pumpkin from a few years ago that shocked the fire out of me), the boyfriends pumpkins, Mr. Incredible's pumpkin (he won!), and Hannah's mustache man pumpkin.  Her pumpkin reminds me of the Monopoly Man.

Our Frozen Inspired Mini Sessions completely sold out and were such a blast!  We had the most adorable Princes and Princesses arrive dressed to the nines in their fabulous outfits.  The set was so much fun to design and create.  I was counting the days until the Mini Sessions!  We even had snowballs and snow waiting for them.  Seriously, I had the fake snow in my hair and all over my clothes by the time the mini sessions were over.  And I barely had a voice after singing songs from the awesome movie for 2 hours at the top of my lungs.  It was a complete blast and I am thrilled that so many came!

Custom Albums

001-002009-010019-020021-022 Part of the Kiki's Corner Photography experience involves designing custom albums for clients.  Seriously, who has the time to scrapbook anymore?  I use to scrapbook all of the time and I really enjoyed it.  But, life seems to be flying by at record speed and as a mom, I simply don't have the time to devote to creating scrapbooks like I once enjoyed.

My clients are the same way.  I thoroughly enjoy creating custom albums for my clients.  These are albums that will hopefully be treasured for generations.  I just completed a yummy newborn album for some very special clients.  I cannot wait for the custom designed album to arrive.  It is absolutely sugar and spice and everything nice and filled to overflowing with these beautiful girls!
